November 12, 2001 - SofTec Microsystems announces the availability of inDART-HC08, a low-cost FLASH in-circuit programmer targeted at Motorola HC08 FLASH devices.
inDART-HC08 takes advantage of SofTec Microsystems' DataBlaze programming interface and the ISP (In-System Programming) feature to program the FLASH memory of the HC08 family of microcontrollers. inDART-HC08 is connected to the host PC through a serial port, while the 16-pin probe of the product fits into the target's ISP connector (MON08 compatible). inDART-HC08 works with target microcontroller voltages of 3.0 V and 5.0 V and implements very fast programming algorithms.
The ISP feature allows you to update the content of FLASH program memory when the chip is already plugged in the application board. The ISP feature can be implemented with a minimum number of added components and board area impact. inDART-HC08 uses a standard, 16-pin ISP connector (MON08 compatible) to program the target device. The MON08 connector is the same connector used for debugging tools such as Motorola ICS08 boards; however, inDART-HC08 uses only the signals dedicated to the in-system programming.
DataBlaze is a full-featured, easy-to-use programming utility. It offers memory editing capabilities, blank check/erase/read/program/verify operations and project handling. DataBlaze is a common programming environment for all of the inDART series tools.
