Starter Kit for Motorola HC08QT Devices
Low-Cost, MON08-Based In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer

September 23, 2002 - SofTec Microsystems unveils a new low-cost tool for the Motorola HC08 family, the PK-HC08QT Starter Kit. The PK-HC08QT Starter Kit has been designed for the evaluation of the MC68HC908QT4 microcontroller (Nitron family) and the debugging of small user applications.

The PK-HC08QT Starter Kit takes advantage of the Metrowerks' CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (which groups an Editor, Assembler, C Compiler and Debugger) and the Motorola's MON08 interface, which allows the download of the user application into the microcontroller FLASH memory.

Together with CodeWarrior, PK-HC08QT provides you with everything you need to write, compile, download, in-circuit emulate and debug user code. Full speed program execution allows you to perform hardware and software testing in real time. PK-HC08QT is connected to the host PC through a serial port. A prototyping area allows you to wire your own small application.

PK-HC08QT offers you the following benefits:

Built-in FLASH programmer (with the SofTec Microsystems' DataBlaze programming utility);
In-system programming and debugging through a MON08 compatible interface;

The Starter Kit is sold at $99 and is composed of an evaluation board, an MC68HC908QT4 (DIP-8) sample, serial cable, SofTec Microsystems' CD-ROM, Metrowerks'CodeWarrior CD-ROM, Motorola documentation on CD-ROM, an easy reference poster full of technical details about the MC68HC908Q microcontroller, and a mouse pad.
